Hyperliquid captures 6.1% market share against CEXs, DWF Ventures reports

According to a new Analysis released by DWF Ventures on August 15, 2025, Hyperliquid’s decentralized perpetual exchange has reached an all-time high market share of 6.1% against centralized exchanges (CEXs), becoming a major competitor to traditional futures trading platforms. The report from DWF Ventures, the investment arm of DWF Labs, charts Hyperliquid’s evolution from an Arbitrum-based PerpDEX to its current Layer 1 platform following migration to HyperEVM and the HYPE token airdrop. Community-first strategy  DWF Ventures attributes Hyperliquid’s success to its absence of early-stage VC funding, instead focusing on refining UX and organically growing its community. This approach was rewarded through the allocation of 31% of HYPE’s total supply to early users via airdrop. Since moving to HyperEVM, the platform has achieved record performance. In July, Hyperliquid recorded $320 billion in perps volume and $87 million in revenue, acco...

A closely followed analyst believes that one top-30 altcoin may put up massive gains in the near term. Pseudonymous analyst Altcoin Sherpa tells his 245,300 followers on the social media platform X that the utility token of the decentralized open financial system Hyperliquid (HYPE) may increase 150% from its current value as it prints a bullish pattern on the daily chart. “Bought a small HYPE perp position [April 30th]; not sure how long I’ll hold for. Still one of the best utility coins and projects out there and it’s slowly grinding higher. Wouldn’t be surprised to see this go to $50 or something if BTC [and] trading conditions remain healthy.” Source: Altcoin Sherpa/X HYPE is trading at $20.10 at time of writing, up 6.3% in the last 24 hours. The analyst also suggests that traditional four-year crypto cycles are likely over, and alts may start following a different price pattern. The four-year cycle is based on the idea that cr...

HyperLiquid downplays ‘extreme centralization’ and pay-to-play criticisms

HyperLiquid, a blockchain and on-chain perpetuals exchange, has found itself at the center of controversy following a whistleblower report. Facing multiple allegations of extreme centralization and pay-to-play favoritism, the platform is barking back at critics who claim that its decentralization is a sham. The exchange rose to prominence with a multi-million dollar airdrop and prides itself on an ostensibly decentralized trading experience that supposedly rivals major crypto exchanges. However, it’s now under scrutiny after allegations of pay-to-play practices that favor a tiny number of well-connected insiders. Black market deals and HyperLiquid centralization Whistleblowers have claimed that black market deals have allowed wealthy investors to corner the supply of HYPE tokens used for transaction validation. They also claim HyperLiquid’s closed-source code, poor documentation, and reliance on a centralized API further consolidate power with elites. Ex-Block...
