How to Check Token Holder Count and Why It Can Mislead

To check a token's holder count, open its token page or block explorer entry using the exact contract address and read the number of addresses holding a balance. Treat that number as a starting point only. It counts wallets, not people, and it can be inflated by airdrops, dust transfers and contract addresses, so always compare it with how the supply is actually spread. What does token holder count actually measure? Holder count is the number of distinct blockchain addresses that hold a balance of a token above zero at a given moment.
